Background
Inspired by the historic trade routes of the Silk Road of the Sea, Forbidden Hill offers jewellery and lacquerware designed with influence from the beauty of South East Asian culture and history. Dedicated to creating objects of beauty, while adhering to local tradition, Forbidden Hill’s products have been meticulously designed, reworked and crafted to the highest of standards across numerous workshops in the region.
Challenge
Forbidden Hill approached Brand New Day Asia when looking for a Strategy and creative Brand Identity. Alongside the bespoke Branding needs, Brand New Day Asia also designed the packaging for their Bangle Box Sets and Vietnamese lacquerware. The main objective for us was to infuse their South East Asia heritage and inspiration into their brand image, from logos through to packaging.
Solution
Brand New Day handcrafted an elegant Brand Identity to suit the high-end quality of Forbidden Hill’s products. It was designed to have the flexibility to appear in the brand’s luxurious jade green, with the addition of copper foil for special treatments. For the visual ID system, we crafted a bespoke pattern inspired by the confluence of cultures in Southeast Asia that is brought to life in scale using a variety of print production techniques to compliment the brand’s values and unique ranges of specialty giftware.
